it’s 3:33 as I light my palo santo + sit down to write this.
I wanted to share a message that came through this morning in my channeling:
your ego is going to get in the way - it’s natural. you don’t need to shame it; just know its place. let it show you where you’re out of alignment. also, know the difference between internal + external resistance.
it’s the last message, “know the difference between internal + external resistance,” that I want to unpack here.
as humans, we’re wired to take the path of least resistance - thanks to our beautiful minds. we have pathways engrained that help us feel safe in what we know (even if it hurts) + guide us unconsciously. so when we meet a point of resistance, our instinct is to turn away.
what if we leaned into it? what is the value of leaning into resistance?
let’s first decode internal + external resistance.
INTERNAL RESISTANCE
internal resistance often stems from a reactive space. it is a visceral feeling that comes over us when we are met with it - be it anger, judgment, bitterness.
it’s the part of us that makes our experience personal. it is trusting emotion over evidence.
it is the part of us that projects our inner turmoil outwardly - to make it mean something about the person/place/thing that created our reaction, instead of connecting what inside of us created our reaction. it’s placing blame + putting the responsibility for ourselves on another.
EXTERNAL RESISTANCE
external resistance isn’t resistance at all; it is a redirection. it’s like coming across a sign that says, “wrong way.” this is something we experience neutrally - there’s no emotional response to it.
it’s a kind reminder to get back on our aligned path. it means nothing about us or what/who we bumped up against.
USING RESISTANCE TO GROW
when we recognize that everything we interact with is a message, guiding us to heal or to pivot, life becomes easier to understand + navigate.
as we evolve, ego can have a tendency to sneakily insert itself. when met with resistance, we may conclude that it’s just not for us. we start to believe that anything not vibing with our energy perfectly is just out of alignment. this is where I want to open an invitation here to perhaps not jump so quickly to that conclusion.
we start to feel so comfortable with the level of growth + intimacy we’ve developed ourselves that we can get in the way of our continued evolution. our ego can get trapped in what it knows, even if that is evolved.
what if the journey is all about us healing our internal resistance + that external resistance is just gently nudging us back into it? what if every reaction we have is our signpost for healing?
if we’re not growing, we’re dying.
DIVINE RESPONSIBILITY
it is our right + responsibility to understand ourselves. we didn’t come here, right now, to not evolve.
it is through our unraveling that we get to experience true ascension + transmutation of our limitations. this is good for me, for you, for all of us - for our evolution.
and resistance is our co-pilot. so, hi resistance, welcome to the flight.
are you uncomfortable yet?
I stand, you stand. together, we rise. xo

Thoroughly enjoyed this and reading your definitions of resistance. I too believe that greatness comes from sitting in discomfort and accepting that growth is often going to be met with resistance.
